Hydrogeology and Modeling
A few projects carried out by DDH in hydrogeology
-
Numerous characterization and hydrogeological modeling studies as part of impact assessment and evaluation studies for sites, which may be contaminated with a wide variety of contaminants:
- DNAPL (dense non aqueous phase liquids)
- Petroleum hydrocarbons
- Chlorinated compounds
- Metals (arsenic, mercury, lead)
-
Hydrogeological modeling (Prince and Modflow) to select management methods for soils contaminated with chemical compounds heavier than water (DNAPL), on the site of a former vinyl chloride plant.
-
Evaluation of current and future hydrogeological data following the priming of the dam, on the site of a former trench landfill in order to evaluate impacts of a groundwater level increase on water quality near the discharge.
-
Monitoring and analysis of natural attenuation for an industrial waste landfill facing problems related to chlorinated solvents.
-
Implementation of a network of groundwater monitoring wells for the modeling of impacts associated with preservative chemicals (PCP and Copper-chromium-arsenate) used on wood posts.
-
Study of the Sebka Ben Ghayadha in Mahdia (Tunisia) and hydrogeological modeling in order to create a permanent body of brackish water.
