PARTNER - Project Director

Sonia Lacombe has been working in environmental consulting since 1995. She holds a Finance MBA from HEC Montréal and a master’s degree in Hydrogeology from Waterloo University (Ontario).

After working six (6) years for a consulting firm in California, she joined DDH in 2001. She is specialized in contaminated groundwater management and has developed a strong expertise in the field of contaminated sites and buildings. Her knowledge in hydrogeology and in soil management benefited in numerous projects in North America and in Asia. Her work includes interpreting complex hydrogeological conditions, evaluating the outcome and the transportation of contaminants, as well as developing and optimizing corrective measure plans.

In addition, Sonia Lacombe can evaluate financial aspects related to environmental issues. She is involved in acquisition and litigation cases, and in projects for accounting compliance purposes. Aspects covered in this field include contaminated sites as well as other environmental issues, such as climate change management.

Since moving back to Québec, she has been also involved in various committees working on defining or updating numerous environmental policies. Finally, she gave a hydrogeological modeling course (analytical and digital models) over a period of five (5) years for the National Ground Water Association in the USA. She also gave conferences in Ontario and in the USA.

Because of her degree in finance and her technical expertise, her work takes into consideration environmental issues as well as aspects valued by managers.
