Marcel Ricard, B.Sc., D.E.S.S.

Marcel Ricard has been working in environmental consulting since 1981, after having worked for five (5) years for Environment Canada. He graduated in Biology at Université du Québec à Montréal and also has an advanced graduate diploma in Toxicology from Université de Montréal.
He has been involved in environmental emergency planning from the beginning of his career. He has supervised the preparation of over 200 emergency planning programs, for many industries, government installations, including various types of risks. In addition, he has prepared and coordinated more than one hundred simulation exercises and delivered numerous emergency response training sessions.
He is an active member of various professional organizations and is a member of the board of directors of the Conseil pour la réduction des accidents industriels majeurs (CRAIM).
He has participated to the development of the CRAIM «Guide de gestion des risques d’accidents industriels majeurs». In addition, he prepared many training programs on techniques for the development, planning and evaluation of simulation exercises in cases of major emergency situations, in particular for the Canadian Coast Guard, Hydro-Québec, and Transport Québec.
He has also coordinated many technological risk evaluation projects for petroleum product and chemical companies. Finally, he participated to the development of the guide on emergency planning programs to insure worker safety for the Commission de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CSST).
