Jean Halde, Eng. M.Sc.

PARTNER - Project Director

Jean Halde is one of the cofounders of DDH and has been working in the environmental field since 1984. He has also worked for approximately two (2) years in petroleum exploration. He graduated in Geology as well as in Geological Engineering at Université Laval. In addition, he has a master’s degree in Geology, with a specialization in hydrogeology from the same university. He is a member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec.

Throughout his career, he has been in charge of numerous major contaminated soil projects, among which are the decontamination of the PPG Canada site in Beauharnois, the tire depot destroyed by fire in St. Amable, and the environmental liability evaluation of some 5,500 properties for the Canadian National privatization. He has supervised many environmental compliance audit projects and the development of requests for certificates of authorization for industrial installations. He has also worked on impacts assessment studies of potentially hazardous industrial activities and presented results at public hearings.

He is very active in various professional organizations and has been, among other things, Vice-president Contaminated Soil and Groundwater Contamination for RÉSEAU environnement from 2002 to 2004. He is sitting on the board of directors of the Conseil Patronal en Environnement du Québec (CPEQ). He has given numerous presentations on contaminated site management and acts regularly as an expert in the context of real estate transactions and litigation on the topic of contamination issues.

Finally, his name is on the list of experts identified in section IV.2.1 of the Quebec Environment Quality Act.

  • Restoration plans and specifications, and work supervision

  • Consultant in litigation, acquisition and real estate transaction cases
